Make sure to receive a certificate of insurance before beginning any type of work.
- Being bonded. This goes back to being protected as a business owner. Being bonded means that your company guarantees the client will get reimbursed for property that gets stolen from the job site. This is necessary if you plan on allowing the cleaners to come in after hours. Again make sure to receive a copy of the bond prior to beginning any work.

- Look out for rising costs. A lot of times when you first hire a cleaning company you’re enticed by low rates. Watch out though a lot of times companies will raise rates yearly.
- Watch out for long term contracts. A good cleaning company shouldn’t need to lock in a client for a year or even months. The quality of work should be what keeps a client. Not a contract. Signing into a contract that doesn’t offer canceling at any time, or at least after a 30 day notice, can result in being stuck with a company that’s not doing a good job and still having to pay them.
